Croatian Cuisine (or not!)

13 Sep

Apologies for my absence over the last few weeks, I’ve been off on my jollies again, sunning myself in Croatia. Before I headed off I have to say I was looking forward to writing good number of blog posts to tell you all about the delicious food I’d eaten on the Dalmatian coast and the local delicacies I’d sampled. I’m afraid that’s not going to happen. Oh I ate alright, I ate and ate but I was disappointed to see the local cuisine was rather lacking.

The place has plenty of restaurants and they are all lovely – the majority have some of the most amazing views I have ever seen. I tasted some delicious food (my mouth is watering at the thought of a particularly lovely fillet steak) but I spent the whole week trying to track down something that I couldn’t eat at home or in another European country. It just didn’t happen.

Every single menu looked the same; risotto, pizza, pasta, chicken, pork. And that’s it, no description to sell these tempting dishes to you, just words! It’s very confusing! So instead, I wanted to share with you some pictures of the most amazing bar I’ve ever been to. It’s in Dubrovnik. Just follow the signs for “cold drinks and beautiful view”!
