You may remember my recent post about Lorriane Pascale being the top contender to fill Jamie Oliver’s shoes as the face of Sainsbury’s?
Well, her new series started on BBC 2 last night, Home Cooking Made Easy, and I’ve definitely decided she’s the woman for the job. Who cares about promoting a healthy lifestyle to a family supermarket? That woman’s dishes look delicious! If I was Ms Sainsbury’s I’d be snapping her talented hand off!
According to The Guardian, the cake queen drew in 2.5 million viewers last night on BBc2, beating BBC1’s Panorama by nearly one million viewers. I only saw the second half of it and to be honest I’m glad. I’ve already promised the boy we’ll sample the swiss roll bowl cake and the five spiced baked ribs are a close second. I don’t know when I’ll have time to try out anything else!
Looking forward to next week’s show already!
Apologies for my absence over the last few weeks, I’ve been off on my jollies again, sunning myself in Croatia. Before I headed off I have to say I was looking forward to writing good number of blog posts to tell you all about the delicious food I’d eaten on the Dalmatian coast and the local delicacies I’d sampled. I’m afraid that’s not going to happen. Oh I ate alright, I ate and ate but I was disappointed to see the local cuisine was rather lacking.
The place has plenty of restaurants and they are all lovely – the majority have some of the most amazing views I have ever seen. I tasted some delicious food (my mouth is watering at the thought of a particularly lovely fillet steak) but I spent the whole week trying to track down something that I couldn’t eat at home or in another European country. It just didn’t happen.
Every single menu looked the same; risotto, pizza, pasta, chicken, pork. And that’s it, no description to sell these tempting dishes to you, just words! It’s very confusing! So instead, I wanted to share with you some pictures of the most amazing bar I’ve ever been to. It’s in Dubrovnik. Just follow the signs for “cold drinks and beautiful view”!
